What this site does, what the tree company does, and what is left to you.
The short version
Sam Houston Tree Co is a referral service. Whatever you send is handed to a single independent tree company around Conroe. That company looks at the tree, sets the price and does the work. We cut nothing ourselves.
Who does the work. The company your request is passed to. Its people look at the tree, write the number and carry out the job, and the result is theirs to stand behind. Any agreement for the work is between you and that company. Before anyone climbs, ask it for whatever you would ask of any contractor, proof of insurance included. We make no statement about that paperwork on its behalf.
The estimate. Free, written, and priced per tree once somebody has seen the tree. After that the number should hold. It moves only when the job does: more trees than were looked at, a gate too narrow for the equipment that was planned, wood that proves rotten inside and has to be lowered in shorter lengths. Any change should be put to you before the saws start again, and you are free to say no.
The prices on this site. They are ranges, not quotes: $200–$2,000 for most removals, $250–$700 for most single-tree trims, $100–$400 for most single stumps. Storm work runs on a scale of its own, up to about $5,000 at the hard end. The cost guide shows what moves a tree inside a range. Your written estimate is the only figure anybody is held to.
Storms. The form is a request, not an emergency line. If wires came down with the tree, the utility comes first. If anyone is hurt or trapped, that is 911. The tree is third.
Oaks and the calendar. Elective oak pruning is not booked from February 1 through June 30, and the oak wilt calendar gives the reason. A genuine hazard is handled when it happens, with the cut painted straight away.
Where. Conroe, Willis, Montgomery, Panorama Village and Grangerland. For an address elsewhere in Montgomery County, ask. You should hear a yes or a no before anything is booked.
Your side of it. Any city, subdivision or association approval the address needs is yours to confirm. So is the property line: a tree standing on it is a talk with the neighbor first. On the day, clear vehicles and loose things from under the tree, leave the gate unlocked, and show where irrigation, septic or any other buried line runs.
Wood and cleanup. The estimate spells out where the wood and brush end up: hauled, chipped or left. Want the firewood? Say so while the estimate is being written.
Calls and the form. Calls to (936) 255-8827 may be recorded, and the greeting says so. What you type into the estimate form is passed to the tree company so it can ring you back, and we may be paid by that company for the introduction. The privacy page covers the rest.
The pages here. The guides and town pages describe how tree work tends to go around Conroe: species, seasons, storms, costs. They are there to be useful. None of them is a promise about your tree. That comes with the estimate.
